The parish of Mishta Al-Helu and Al-Wadi originally consisted of families who settled in the area before the events in Syria, overseen by the Archdiocese of Homs and Hama. After the events that unfolded in Syria in 2011, many Syriac families from various parts of Syria sought refuge here, prompting the explicit establishment of this parish. Father Gabriel Hazeem was ordained as the priest for this parish until his transfer to serve in the Zaidal parish. Currently, Father John Zakimi has been serving the parish since September 7, 2020, overseeing its affairs and conducting services across various dimensions.

Each parish within this community includes a variety of spiritual and social institutions such as Christian education centers, choirs, deacons, sisterhoods for women, family associations, and brass scout troops, in addition to associations serving people with special needs.

Most parishes also have endowments managed by endowment committees, which are invested to support the church fund for developing endowments or to provide aid and support for spiritual activities. Each parish has a committee dedicated to distributing aid of various kinds to families affected by the war. These committees rely on programs provided by the Umm Al-Zinar Relief and Development Center, as well as donations from benefactors. Their work complements the support provided by associations established by expatriates from the archdiocese in the United States, Europe, and other countries to aid fellow members of the archdiocese.
